Naftogaz Ukraine says Gazprom still blocks reverse gas supplies
KIEV, Feb 5 (PRIME) -- Russian gas giant Gazprom is still blocking large scale reverse supplies of natural gas to Ukraine, and Kiev insists on talks on the matter with attraction of the European Commission, Yury Vitrenko, the director for business development at energy company Naftogaz Ukrainy, said Friday on his Facebook page.
“Gazprom…is stubbornly blocking the virtual reverse delivery by refusing to give us shipper code pairs. In other words, it refuses to grant the necessary data for transition to European rules of relations between gas transportation system operators of Ukraine, Slovakia, Romania, Hungary and Poland,” he said.
“But we will not tolerate that. We have already filed a suit against Gazprom to the Stockholm Arbitration Court. We expect a decision at the beginning of next year. At the same time, we insist on talks over the matter with attraction of the European Commission.”
The shipper code pairs will increase capacities of the reverse gas delivery to 60–70 billion cubic meters per year, he said.
